The top keeper taper needed to be up while the lower keeper taper needed to be down. If either or both were installed incorrectly, the caliper would drag. Step 2: Clean the tone ring of all fine metal. The ridges on the tone ring will often gather fine metal that is present in dirt. Be sure to remove all this fine metal.
