Having made a verbal offer does not legally obligate an employer to hire an employee, especially if there are extenuating circumstances or conditions. WebI've had to rescind an offer for a few students that ended up not fulfilling the prerequisite courses. It was always because they dropped a math at the holiday break and didn't pick up the .5 credits they needed to graduate on the recommended plan. Literally my least favorite phone calls to make. So, so sad.
